Just How Thick Can It Be

Did I miss somthing? I guess I did, since I didn't have any little girls to be around from the time I was a child till now. Apparently Megara's hair isn't the only princess whose hair is thick, and I do mean thick! I'm just almost done restoring the second hand dolls I have, and I just have to say, I'm definitely ready to be out of their hair for a while! I think some of the princess dolls have more hair on their heads than some small children! Good grief.

After I got home from work last night, I took Jasmine and Meg off the sink and finished up their hair. In the few hours since I had washed her hair, Jasmine's had managed to tangle up some again! So annoying. But a little bit of work got it back under control and I was able to braid it. A thick braid once again.

And from the front. I've moved the top to her red outfit on to her doll so that she can model her own outfit instead of Snow White doing it for her (poor Snow White keeps getting stripped of her modeling duties, lol).

I thought I was going to have to put conditionar on Meg's hair to finish up the restoration process, but her hair was really soft after it dried. Who knew Dawn dish soap made doll's hair so soft? So I went ahead and braided it.

I also took the bang sweep and pulled it to the side with a small hair rubber band to try to start taming them for when I style Meg's hair later. That is one thick braid.

Just a couple of pictures to give you an idea of how thick the braids are. I was expecting Rapunzel's braid to be thick, after all, she has a ton of hair! But Meg's was thicker! And Jasmine's was pretty close.

For those of you who actually know me, here's a reference photo. This is Rapunzel next to my own braid. They are nearly the same size!!! Sorry for the blurry photo, but I was trying to hold the doll and my hair and take the picture all by myself. My braid is a mess after a day of work, lol.

While I was finishing up Meg and Jasmine, I decided to do the last princess with long hair, Pocahontas. This doll actually came to me with her hair already in a braid, but I wanted to make sure it was tangle free and to get the standard rubber band out of her hair. Never put those type rubber bands in dolls hair!!! Ugh! They ruin the doll's hair just like they would human hair.

Pocahontas also had some sort of little blue thing in her hair I wanted to get out. I was hoping that it wasn't going to be so stuck in the hair that I had to cut it out.

This is after pulling the braid out. Looks almost like Jasmine's did before I started on hers. At least the braid came free relatively easy.

The little blue thing ended up just being one of those snap in hair decorations, thankfully.

The braid had kept Pocahontas' hair relatively tangle free, but it still had some small tangles in it. This is after just about five minutes of work.

About half of the way through. It really was  more getting the kinks out (that yes, would just be put right back in when I re-braided it) than anything.

Almost done and only about twenty minutes of work. There must have been something about this black hair that was used in the 1990's because Pocahontas shedded nearly as much as Jasmine did!

And a tangle free hair.

I always thought the Pocahontas doll had pretty hair. I think the fact they put the arm band on the doll was cool too (I know, kid moment).

Pocahontas ended up having pretty clean hair, so I didn't have to run her through a wash. After getting her hair all combed out, I just put it back into a braid.

And from the front. This just leaves me the second hand Aurora I received to work on her hair, and maybe a Cinderella. I don't figure my chances of finding a second hand Tiana are very good (the only princess which I lack a doll for), so she will probably just be a store bought doll.

168.5 DAYS REMAINING!!!!!
