Easter Princess Marathon

Happy Easter!!!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter, regardless of your religious preference or denomination. As a Christian, this is my favorite time of the year with some of my favorite services in the liturgical church!!! I just wanted to share a few pictures of the lovely floral arrangements at my church this morning.

Every person in the congregation added a rose to this cross before it was carried down to the front of the nave at the beginning of the service. My favorite decoration of the year. :)

Disney Princesses

Okay, so with not having children of my own or little kids around to celebrate Easter with, other than church I spent the weekend working on the dresses. While there are many pictures in the post, it is mostly just before and after pictures of the work I've done. I set out to work at least a little bit on every dress.

Here is the last picture I had taken before this weekend of all the dresses I had on the needles.

This is from Saturday afternoon, the few outfits I first pulled out to work on before Easter Vigil service that night. From left to right: Jasmine's red outfit, Belle's blue cape (just almost under Snow White), Aurora's peasant dress (as modeled by Snow White), and Belle's pink dress.

And here is my bed as it looked when I got set up this afternoon after getting home from Easter service. My cats were a little more than unhappy that the bed was covered with yarn and dolls and they couldn't cuddle their mommy.

Belle

As I said, mostly the pictures are just going to be before and after shots of the works, with a movie or other picture before hand to see what outfit is being worked on with just a few comments here and there from me.

Green Dress

In between work: just a few needles in the dress.
After: I'm just nearly done with the skirt on this dress, then just to design the sleeves. I figure just a couple more hours of work and this dress should be ready for finishing and final pictures on Belle.

Christmas Dress
 Before
After: Yes, it's much shorter. After about 20 minutes of work on the dress as I had it set up above, I determined it wasn't going to work the way I thought it would. So, I had to frog it and find a different way to do it. The way I am going to work it now, it will be a two layer dress, with a built in petticoat in the sparkle gold/white yarn.

Aurora

Blue Ball Gown
 Before
After: I don't think that this dress is going to take too much longer to finish either.

Peasant Dress

 After Saturday
After Sunday: Yes, I did some doll switching around. I also added four more DPNs to the skirt. Since I am designing this dress, I wanted to make it as easy as possible on myself to keep the design straight, so by adding an even number of DPNs in (going from four to eight), I only have to keep track of the increase needles on the increase rows instead of counting in every single round.

Jasmine

Red Outfit
 Before
After: darned in the ends and added snaps. I moved the outfit to Snow White in order to tailor the outfit to the Disney dolls' body.
I also started working on the pants, but....
After a little more work, I realized there was a major flaw in the pattern I was using for the pants, aka the pant leg was going to be big enough to be a skirt by itself. So, it was a second outfit to send to the frog pond.
But I was able to do just a little more work on the pants, this time trying to design them myself. We'll see how it turns out.

And a final shot of almost all the dresses (the green dress isn't in the picture because it's still sitting aside to be worked on just a little bit more tonight possibly). I had to move my clock radio off my dresser to make room for all the dolls, lol.

175 DAYS REMAINING!!!!!
